Its been another week of slow steady progress. The BBC came and interviewed Georgina and I on Monday and we were able to update them on progress. They managed to get a video call interview with Amy who had just been at the NAPTIP offices where her Dubai mistress and two accomplices are being held in custody. She said it was very scary but was pleased to learn that NAPTIP is close to arresting a fourth person.

In Dubai, we now have a willing contact on the ground who is working there voluntarily and will be able to assist in making connections with the girls. I have booked my trip for the end of February so we are all set to go. I am in almost daily contact with the NAPTIP case officer, John and am keen to go and visit him in Benin when this is all over. They are doing amazing work on very little money, mostly funded by the UK.

Back in Nigeria, Amy started her apprenticeship as a seamstress on Monday and seems to be enjoying filling her day with activity and the possibility of earning a living. Bindy has been dogged with ill health and had a minor operation this week on top of her malaria

We are told the BBC piece will go to air w/c 17th February. In light of this, we are going to be re-orientating the GoFundMe campaign, setting a bigger target so that we can attract more funding to repatriate more girls. I don’t know if we will receive more funds as a result but we need to be open to receive!
